Cruising Along...

After taking a shower and eating breakfast, I made an attempt to be social and sat out in the lounge with the Raytheon crew.  These people were on the plane with me from Santiago, and are the employees that we will be dropping off at Palmer Station to work there until May.  They were watching Benjamin Button though, so there wasn’t much to be social about.
We were just sailing through the South Atlantic today, with no land in sight for most of it.  Kind of a strange concept…I mean you know that it’s nearby, but it must be hiding.  There's a bird in the picture I took below that was following us...can you see it?

Other than that, today has been pretty uneventful.  Should be hitting the Drake Passage later this evening, so I’m going to make sure everything in the lab is secured and then relax.  The real science starts once we near the peninsula.
